Dr. William Clarke

Dr. Clarke graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 1992. He also earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Waterloo in 1989 and completed an Ocular Disease and Therapeutics Program from Northeastern State College of Optometry, Oklahoma, U.S.A. in 1996.
He joined the Ottawa Optometric Clinic in 1992.
Dr. Clarke provides full scope optometric care with specialization in Sports Vision. He has provided services to the Ottawa Senators , the Ottawa 67s, the Algonquin College Thunder Men's Volleyball team, and the Ottawa Rough Riders and then Renegades of the CFL. He also provides care to both amateur and professional athletes in the
Ottawa region.
Through sports vision, Dr. Clarke has volunteered eye care for Special Olympics. He has participated at the World Special Olympic Games in 1997 Toronto, Canada and 1999 North Carolina, U.S.A and the 2006 Ontario Special Olympic Team Conference & Health Expo,
Ottawa, Canada.
Dr. Clarke is a member of the Ottawa Optometric Society (he served as Vice-President 1992-1993),the American Optometric Association-Sports Vision Section, and the Intemational Academy of Sports Vision.
He enjoys speaking to students at various school and clubs in the community, and has lectured at the University of Ottawa.
Dr. Clarke serves on the executive of the St Laurent Adult Hockey League, and is President of the Dalhousie Lake - Sugar bush Hill Lane Association. He coaches hockey with Ottawa South Minor Hockey Association, soccer with the Canterbury Minor Soccer Association, and baseball with the South Ottawa Little League.
Leisure time activities include his wife and three children at home or at their cottage. He also enjoys gardening, weight training, boating, fishing, and spending time with his new dog Buzz.
