Dr. Roland des Groseilliers

Dr. Roland des GroseilliersDr. des Groseilliers graduated from the College of Optometry of Ontario in 1965. He took over the Earl Whan practice in Billings Bridge in 1967. The practice was expanded there three times and moved to the present Kilborn location in 1990.

Dr. des Groseilliers provides services in French and English.

Notable accomplishments of Dr. des Groseilliers include:

  • One of the founders of the Ottawa Society of Optometrists and a past president.
  • President of the Ontario Association of Optometrists in 1974-75.
  • Acting Executive Director of the Canadian Association of Optometrists in 1979
  • One of the founding directors of the Canadian Optometric Education Trust Fund, and was the national fund raising chairman in 1985.
  • President of the Canadian Association of Optometrists from 1982 to 1984.
  • Represented Canadian Optometry at the International level for over ten years
  • Member of the Ottawa South Rotary Club from 1978 until 2006 and President in 1974-75 as well as 2000-2001
  • Member of the NCC (National Capital Commission) from 1997 to 2005
  • Board member of OSI (Optometric Services Inc.) Board since 1985 and its chairman from 1997-2008
  • Recipient of the H J Cobean award from the Ontario Association of Optometrists in 2010
  • Honorary member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists

Leisure time activities include travel, boating, curling, and grandchildren.
