Dr. Margaret Hansen-des Groseilliers

Dr. Margaret Hansen-des GroseilliersDr. Hansen-des Groseilliers graduated from the College of Optometry of Ontario in 1965 where she was awarded the Gold Medal for General Proficiency. She joined the practice at Billings Bridge in 1970.

Dr. Hansen-des Groseilliers provides services in English and French with areas of special interest in children's vision, developmental vision and binocular vision therapy.

Notable accomplishments of Dr. Hansen-des Groseilliers include:

  • Past President of the Ottawa Society of Optometrists
  • Ontario representative to the Canadian Association of Optometrists from 1986-1992
  • Trustee on the Canadian Optometric Education Trust fund from 1986-1992
  • Chairman of the Canadian Optometric Education Trust Fund from 1990-1992
  • Chaired the Awards Committee of the Canadian Optometric Education Trust Fund from 1992-1994.
  • Joined the Rotary Club of Ottawa in 1993 and was President from 1998-1999
  • Recipient of the H J Cobean award from the Ontario Association of Optometrists in 2010
  • Honourary member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists

Dr “Margaret” is married to Dr. Roland des Groseilliers. They have three daughters, nine grandchildren, as well as many “Rotary Exchange Children” around the world. Leisure time activities include travel, cooking, skiing, and reading.
