Dr. Jason Bussey
Originally from Cape Breton Island, Dr. Bussey graduated from Mount Allison University with a First Class Honours (with Distinction) Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics in 2002 and had his research on meteoroid structure published. He continued his studies at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and obtained his Doctor of Optometry Degree in 2007. His clinical experience included externships at a Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Oklahoma and in the northern British Columbia community of Prince Rupert.
Dr. Bussey joined the practice in September 2007 and works at both the Westboro and Kilbom locations. He is a member of the Ottawa Society of Optometrists and has participated in several workshops as a question evaluator for the Canadian Examiners in Optometry.
Outside of the office, Dr. Bussey is an avid and accomplished runner. He has completed 10 marathons in cities such as Halifax, Ottawa, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Miami and New York City. He is currently training for the 2011 Chicago Marathon, where he will try to lower his personal best (3:12) and qualify for the Boston Marathon. Dr. Bussey also enjoys traveling and has visited over 15 countries to date. His other interests include weight training, photography, live music and cheering for the Habs.
